What brought you to CrossFit Apogee?
I was interested in learning more about CrossFit and saw an article in the Osprey Observer about a new CrossFit gym opening on Big Bend Rd. I kept that article for about two months before I finally decided to register for the introductory class.
What was your first impression?
My first impression of Apogee was that of a welcoming, challenging and fun environment. I was impressed by the coaches ability to explain the sport and most importantly how they spoke about the importance of proper technique, fundamentals and training at your own level.
What was your first Bright Spot (or something you were happy you finally did)?
My first bright spot was when I started stringing together double unders followed by learning how to kip on pullups.
What changes have you noticed in yourself since you joined the Apogee Family? I have never been more committed to working than since joining Apogee. I’m in better shape now than anytime in the last 20 years. CrossFit has taught me how to overcome limitations and push myself to achieve things I may not have thought possible.
What is your favorite Apogee memory?
Competing. Completing my first Murph (Hero workout), competing in several competitions, competing in the CrossFit Open with my fellow athletes from Apogee.
