What brought you to CrossFit Apogee? 

I have always been intrigued by CrossFit but too scared to try it. I saw a New You challenge which was a female-only 6 week intro to CrossFit and decided to give it a try. I never looked back! 

 

What was your first impression?

Everyone was so welcoming and encouraging, from the coaches to the athletes!

What was your first Bright Spot (or something you were happy you finally did)?

I participated in the CrossFit Open just 2 weeks after completing the New You challenge. I was completely out of my comfort zone but loved every minute of being there and experiencing the energy of the competition! 

What changes have you noticed in yourself since you joined the Apogee Family?

When I start at Apogee, I was the heaviest weight I’d ever been, I couldn’t do a single push-up, couldn’t run a 1/2 mile without getting winded, and I was really bored and uninspired by my “normal” gym routine. Because of the work I’ve done and the great coaching, I can definitely do push-ups 🙂 and I’ve been running 5ks. Most importantly, I have the confidence and the energy to try new things, and do it surrounded by amazing people! 

What is your favorite Apogee memory?

The Open was so much fun but my favorite memory is definitely our Ragnar race in December. It was so fun to camp and run as teams and push ourselves to do something out of the norm!
