What brought you to CrossFit Apogee?
I knew nothing about CrossFit other than pictures of the super-cut athletes I’d see scrolling through the facebook feed. My husband saw signs about Apogee’s free class and talked me into going one Saturday – just to try it out.

What was your first impression?
I felt pretty good during the intro workout – tired of course but I knew I could handle it. I liked that there were movements I could do, even if I wasn’t all that great at it. And Don’s enthusiasm was encouraging – and he made it fun.

What was your first Bright Spot (or something you were happy you finally did)?
The 8:30 crew is a constant source of inspiration and encouragement. With their push, I completed the Murph challenge. I am constantly amazed at what my body can do now.

What changes have you noticed in yourself since you joined the Apogee Family? I am so much stronger than I ever thought I was. I also sleep a lot better and have the energy to keep up with the almost-three year old who’s always at my side.

What is your favorite Apogee memory?
There are two favorites – the first time I hit a deadlift over 200 lbs and the first time I ran a quarter mile without stopping. Yeah!!
